The Ultrasound and Echocardiography machine for The Royal County Hospital, Winchester would be housed in the Intensive Care Unit.  When patients are in the ICU, urgent medical interventions are often needed at very short notice.

This machine will help the staff to do two things. Firstly, assist in seeing a severely ill patient’s deep veins in order to safely insert plastic tubes into the patient’s veins and secondly, in looking for damage to a patient’s lungs and heart.

What is so special about the machine is that it has many useful functions which can help make cutting edge medical interventions promptly in very critically ill patients.
