Funds raised towards this project will buy a Outpatient Hysteroscopy Fluent Fluid Management System which is an innovative and modern system designed to treat women suffering with gynaecological conditions such as the heavy bleeding, pain, anaemia, bloating caused by uterine polyps, heavy menstrual bleeding and uterine fibroids. These conditions rarely lead to cancer but have very difficult and painful side effects which can have an incredibly debilitating effect on a woman’s ability to work, exercise and live their every day lives effectively. This incredible piece of equipment removes the need for treatment under anaesthetic and allows women suffering with these conditions to be treated quickly and safely in a comfortable and relatively stress free manner. A secondary but hugely important benefit for all patients hospital wide is that a local anaesthetic treatment also frees up valuable theatre time for those patients awaiting major surgical procedures on post-pandemic waiting lists.
