Project Description

Inserting a tube (intubating) a neonate or infant under the age of 6 months is an intricate and potentially risky procedure often performed in an emergency to tiny and incredibly vulnerable babies. Being able to use video laryngoscopy will improve the ability to perform less invasive administrations, which is key to minimising lung damage and reducing mortality. It will also increase the ability to teach junior doctors and also to share imagery with specialists for second opinions. This equipment will dramatically improve the safety and outcome of this traumatic procedure at the most vital of times for many of our very tiniest patients.
