Funds raised towards this project will purchase scope guides which will improve the specialised endoscopy service currently provided for patients in Winchester and Basingstoke. These Scope Guides enable skilled endoscopists to provide a continuous, real-time image of the scope position during a colonoscopy, avoiding inaccurate scope movement and decreasing patient pain. The ScopeGuide shows an accurate 3D reconstruction of the position and configuration of the endoscope position within the colon, which makes navigation through the colon easier. As a result, patients experience less discomfort, as loops can be identified quicker.
